While there are still a handful of kinks that need to get resolved, the YouBeMom message board seems to have stabilized to the point where we can finally take the site out of beta. This means that while we’ll continue to incorporate feedback from the community into the site, there should be a slow down in the frequency of updates.
However, before we do, we’d like to throw out one more opportunity for you all to voice your thoughts about what improvements you’d like to see. To get you started, here is a poll listing some of the remaining suggestions that we’ve heard from members in the past. Go crazy, the sky’s the limit. If it’s a good idea we’ll figure it out.

I would love to see an enlarged “Subject” space that accommodated all the text that will appear on that post before it kicks over to “Message.” That is all. Thanks for a great site!
I have to disagree w/ Em about the subject/message character limits. Keep them the way they are a la OldB. Otherwise the threads take up too much space on the screen (one of the mega problems w/ new UB), plus it limits things like Sanjaya, etc. Thanks again for everything!

Now, one very small question: what do you mean by “ignore all posts from one user?” If it is anonymous, how do we know who’s who? You are planning to keep the place anonymous, right? (just making sure…)

Holy Grail, I didn’t mean to increase the number of characters in the Subject area, but to increase the space to accommodate all the characters it allows. Just so you can see what you’ve typed.

@LegendaryPinkDot, yes of course ybm will remain 100% anonymous. The idea was if a series of posts was annoying you, you would have an option to ignore all posts created by the same author. - YBM
One problem with the “ignoring posts of a particular poster” idea is that if someone then had two computers, they could figure out which posts belonged to the same person, by seeing which ones were not appearing on the other computer.
My idea: I like using the option that causes a post to go gray and italicized when it’s been clicked on (and thus “read.”) But it only gray-italicizes the outside post, not anything that continues on the inside, which is annoying. Can you make it gray-ital the whole post, inside and outside?
I would love if we could collapse posts on the blackberry. Especially the watched ones. Or maybe the watched ones not from that day would automatically be collapsed.
I vote for showing the # of users.
I don’t think the “ignore all posts from one user” is so great an option. I think it could lead to confusion and a strange brand of censorship on the site. I don’t think it works with an anon forum, because you don’t know if “all the annoying posts” really are from the same person. Does that make sense?
AND, would really really like to have more functionality (at least ability to scroll) on my iPhone.
I’d love it if I could scroll on my iphone. All that shows is the first few posts, then the bottom of the window.

i really like the idea of a timer that tells you how much time you’ve been on the site from the time you logged in. i’m pretty addicted and waste many an evening here - i mean it’s fun and i like it but i’d rather limit myself to an hour or less per night if you know what i mean.
someone suggested the option of choosing to get kicked off after a certain amt of time - the parental control feature. which of course we would set ourselves. that could be great for someone with as little self-control as me.
