Today marks the one year anniversary of YouBeMom! What started out as a small side project turned into a 6 day, 80+ hour marathon of programming, parental negligence, and sleepless nights. With the love and support of our spouses, a (more…)

I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve had to go through the ybm database to figure out a user’s background or posting history. It’s pretty much been limited to a handful of instances where a user was (more…)

Many of our users have asked about who exactly is behind YBM. Most just express a passing curiosity. Others wonder (sometimes out loud) if this is all an elaborate plan to capture their pet peeves, lunch choices, hollywood crushes, and American Idol (more…)

When posts and replies are flying by, it can be hard to tell what’s old and new on the page when you refresh, especially in a really long thread where several sub-conversations are going on at once. There’s an option now click on a post to mark it as read. You can enable this feature from the Settings page by checking the “dim read posts” checkbox. With this feature enabled, posts will turn grey and italicized to indicate that they’ve been read. Please let me know if you have any problems. Enjoy!
NOTE: Sorry Safari users, but this feature only works with IE and Firefox. I’m still looking into some possible alternatives for Safari, but the future is not looking bright

Several people have expressed concern about their posts being discovered by others in their home, especially when they are on a shared computer. To address this problem, you can now find a link to clear your post history on the settings page. Clicking this link will remove any association between you and the posts you’ve written. They will still be searchable and viewable, but they will not longer be highlighted, and will not show up under your “My Posts” view.
You may now go back to bashing your DHs, MILs and neighbors.
